Every company has employees (to state the obvious!)
- But how do you as a Manager/Director engage with them?
- How do you know if they are truly happy in their work?
- Do you have any clear indicators to what is demotivating your staff?
If you answer no to any of the above then you need to engage with them, but in a way that they can feel safe doing so……
This is where an employee satisfaction survey can help, but it has to be anonymous otherwise your results will not reflect your employees feelings.
If your employees are not happy at your company, then they will at some point look elsewhere for something better.
So, how can employee engagement help?
Well, your staff will feel that their opinions matter to you, that they are part of the company, after all these are the people who are on the front line every day, they know what works and what doesn’t, so ask them. But when you get some negative points, turn them around to a positive outcome.
Other ways to engage with your employees, is to have regular sales meetings, to openly discuss team achievements, opportunities, good news, this provides an excellent positive nature to the meeting, people will be more open to bouncing ideas around, sharing placement opportunities, not forgetting it is another opportunity to bring everyone together.
This is what CBSbutler does every 2 weeks and a satisfaction survey every 6 months, we get our staff involved, and we find out if they are happy with key areas of the business, that is why we took part in the 2012 ‘Best Companies Employee Engagement Survey’ and the results we fantastic. No company is perfect and never will be, but you can make it as good as it can be, but how do you know what changes to make without knowing from the core part of the business….Your Staff.
