Software Engineer - Romsey/Woking - Permanent

I am currently working with a leading R&D organisation, who design and secure the world's most technically advanced data and communications systems for governments and industry.

The projects involve a diverse array of technologies, often utilizing various frameworks and platforms. The project teams adopt agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe for workflow management.

They seek Software Engineers with a wide spectrum of skills to become part of active and forthcoming project delivery teams.

Based in Romsey/Woking (Remote working available)

Must be eligible for Security Clearance

£50,000 - £60,000 per annum + 6% bonus

As a Software Engineer, your role will be to:

• Design, develop and engineer software and products for Roke and our customers
• Produce creative and innovative solutions to customer problem
• Integrate and develop against open source components and frameworks
• Understand and apply new and emerging technologies
• Provide support and consultancy to other Roke staff and customers

As a Software Engineer, your skills/experience will be:

• Python/Java/Kotlin and supporting backend and middleware frameworks
• SQL and NoSQL database systems
• Linux-based operating systems - Ubuntu, Centos/RHEL
• Mobile operating systems - especially Android
• Message brokering, serialisation and queuing systems
• Microservices, containers and hosts
• Infrastructure as Code - Vagrant, Ansible and Terraform
• AWS and Azure Cloud
• Git and version control systems
