Giving staff the chance to feedback

Almost two thirds (64%) of organisations undertake exit interviews when a member of staff leaves. That’s according to a snapshot poll undertaken by specialist engineering and technical recruiter CBSbutler through its Bulletpoint management newsletter. Over a third (36%) of respondents indicated that they sometimes undertake exit interviews.
Commenting on the results, David Leyshon, Managing Director of CBSbutler said: "With retention very much at the top of the HR agenda, it is good to see companies trying to ascertain why people leave. As the recession recedes, more people will again leaving jobs of their own accord and these are for a complex mix of reasons.
Pull factors can include a better offer elsewhere while push factors can include inadequate training and development, insufficient or a poor culture fit. If companies can ascertain the real reasons for leaving that they are in a much better position to prevent others from leaving for similar reasons.”
