The role: Commodity Manager
Salary: c. £40,000 - £45,000
Location: Dorset
Our client is the market leader for Air-to-Air Refuelling, providing innovative fourth generation nose to tail solutions to defence customers worldwide. Due to company growth they are looking to recruit a Commodity Manager to join their Commodity Management team.
The Role: Commodity Manager
As Commodity Manager you will be responsible for:
+ Managing £25M of Commodity spend
+ Negotiating and implementing supply contracts
+ Managing relationships with key suppliers
+ Analyses, interprets & leverages spend and performance data
+ Researches the supply market and understands business drivers
+ Manages the development of the commodity strategy
+ Understands key supplier capability and capacity
+ Managing the development of suppliers
+ Identifying and monitoring benefit delivery
+ Delivering to or bettering target benefit delivery
+ Leading sourcing related improvement projects
+ Managing large contracts through regular contract reviews with suppliers
+ Managing the implementation of commodity strategies through close working relationships with the individual business functions
+ Providing direction to the Commodity Buyers
Experience:
As Commodity Manager you will have experience of:
+ Degree qualified or equivalent in relevant discipline
+ Supplier Relationship management
+ Strong negotiation skills
+ Good interpersonal skills and able to manage commercial relationships
+ Good team working skills
+ Previous experience of the Defence and Aerospace industry
