Communication Systems Engineer

Our South Coast based client requires a Communication Systems Engineer who will have engineering responsibility for Beyond-Line-of-Sight (BLOS) and Line-of-Sight (LOS) Communications.

You will carry out functional analysis, to create system architectures, to carry out design trade-off studies, to prepare high level design specifications for communications product, to carry out systems integration, to support trials

Key Responsibilities

The tasks will be carried out in an avionics environment, so a good appreciation of platform integration and qualification is desirable.
You will perform the functional analysis and high level architecture design for beyond lineof-sight comms systems. You will also be capable of overseeing and taking responsibility for development of product to requirements by suppliers and other parts of the business.
You will report to the Head of Engineering within the Avionics group and will be capable of working independently to general guidelines without the necessity for close and detailed supervision.

Prior experience required

Preferably you will have an avionics background, and have experience in some or all of the following:

1. Analysis of requirements and functional analysis
2. Partitioning studies and architecture design
3. RF systems engineering
4. Tactical Data Links
5. Satellite Communications
6. Signal processing
7. RF systems
8. Antennas for air vehicles
9. System integration / platform integration

You should enjoy working as part of a small engineering team and enjoy customer contact, marketing support and working in a business development environment.

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent in engineering, physics, mathematics or related fields.
