Composite Engineer


Our client is a leading company in the defence industry which supplies integrated system solutions to the UK MOD and defence forces. They are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer for a 6 month contract who has a Composite Manufacturing background and good experience in Composite Filament Winding to support various new and existing Manufacturing Projects.

The Composite Engineer will:

+ Involve supporting Manufacturing Estimates, Planning and performing process development trials
on existing Composite Hardware and performing root cause and corrective action activies on non conforming composite hardware
+ There is the possibility that this role would be made into a permanent position at the end of this contract subject to business demand

The Composite Engineer with need:

+ Very Good Experience in a similar position working in a Composite Manufacturing environment
covering various composite manufacturing methods and a diverse product range
+ Very Good Understanding of Composite Techniques such as Filament Winding and Composite Layup and has experience in working with materials such as carbon fibre, kevlar and silicone
+ Experience in Composite Process Development
+ Excellent understanding of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing, BS8888 & ASME Y 14.5
+ Experience in composing Manufacturing Estimates
+ Good IT skills
+ Very Good Experience of conducting root cause analysis of production problems.
+ Minimum HNC in Mechanical Production Engineering Discipline
+ Practical experience in CNC Filament winding Machines
