We require a Technical Consultant who has a good understanding of the security challenges presented within the cyber domain. Technical Consultants are knowledgeable and adaptable, applying their expertise to a wide range of problems. They take a lead in working directly with clients to understand their specific needs and develop novel technical solutions to satisfy the requirements.
As a Cyber Technical Consultant you will be responsible for the following:
*Providing technical expertise as client-side advisors to major system developments, developing business and technology requirements, designing technical solutions and managing delivery of cyber security technology projects.
*Liaising closely with the company and client staff from both technical and business backgrounds. Responding to client requests, anticipating and meeting client problems and needs, using innovative approaches when applicable.
*Delivering high quality work to meet client expectations and project deadlines. Contributing to improvement of approaches and quality of deliverables
*Provide leadership to more junior staff within small teams and track progress of work packages. Reporting progress and highlighting issues before they become a problem.
*Maintain performance when under stress, and manage time effectively through the application of organisation and planning skills.
Successful candidates will possess the following skills:
*You will have three or more years of proven experience working on technical projects within a technical consulting or engineering environment. You will have particular knowledge of one or more of:
*Capturing, analysing and communicating user and system requirements for both functional and non-functional aspects of a system.
*Business process mapping and functional modelling, and knowledge of architectural frameworks and notation (eg UML, MoDAF, TOGAF etc.)
*Architecting and managing services using a recognised service management framework (eg ITIL)
*You will have an excellent academic record in a technical/numerate discipline from a good university, but just as important is demonstrable expertise in a relevant consulting or technology area and evidence of continued career progression.
*You will be highly computer literate and have a good awareness of cyber security. You will have knowledge and experience of a wide range of technologies and methods that help you to make recommendations on and/or design the technical solution.
*You will be keen to take on the problems that others are unable to solve and will be able to apply your experience and/or theoretical knowledge to practical, business environments to develop innovative solutions.
*You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, often-changing environment on ill-defined problems and be flexible in your approach to meeting the client's needs.
