DESKTOP SECURITY ENGINEER - OXFORD
£35,000 p.a.
Technical management of Global Desktop Engineering & Automation (GDEA) Desktop encryption service, with responsibility for system operation and client compliance.
To provide a technical escalation role for the resolution of 3rd level system issues.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for Disaster Recovery planning & testing
Manage the encryption infrastructure, ensuring devices are functional & in an encrypted state.
Supporting an approximate userbase of 50,000 devices
Provision of EEPC training & support (& maintenance) to Level 3 IT organisations & Level 1 support staff
Monitoring of server/logs/jobs etc - coordinating/owning issue resolution of any server issues.
Working with other company resources world wide to ensure server service is operational.
Coordination & ownership of phased EEPC rollout across the enterprise.
Maintenance of documentation & knowledge base articles
Responsible for maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System at the site in accordance with divisional requirements and applicable regulations
Education:
Education to a level of technical competence on the necessary systems on which the jobholder is to work.
GCSE or equivalent in English to effectively communicate in writing.

ITIL v3 with a focus and demonstratable understanding of Service Design/Delivery)
Experience of McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.7/ HIPS & EPO (v4.x)
Minimum 2-3 year proven track record of working in a third level technical support role, with a focus on encryption/safeboot technologies.
Minimum 2 Years experience of supporting Windows XP
Bring necessary level of specialist knowledge to diagnose and fix related problems.
Must have a desire to develop/maintain a world-class professional infrastructure.
Can work Empowered and be a self-motivator.
Good communication skills coupled with the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
A logical thinker able to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems.

Working with third party service providers to ensure any issues are resolved in a timely fashion.

Level 2 /3 EEPC Client problem solving and Escalation to Platinum support
To provide back up support for other members of the Threat Management team.
To maintain the integrity of the Desktop encryption service, ensuring the backup strategy is verified through the disaster recovery plan.
To provide technical management of the desktop encryption service, including maintenance & recommending changes where appropriate.
To ensure that procedures and system documentation is properly maintained, managing system capacity and recommending additional hardware/changes where appropriate.
To lead / participate in projects as and when required.
To ensure that system problems are resolved within agreed time scales as defined in relevant documentation.
To ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with written procedures
Any other tasks as required to maintain system integrity and availability, including occasional work out side of normal hours.
