EDMS Service Transition Architect needed for a 6/12 month contract based in Hook. This EDMS Service Transition Architect must hold current SC Clearance and have Solid networking, infrastructure, messaging, data migration, storage skills and knowledge.
Previous experience of moving systems from one environment/platform to another and working with the operational capabilities (primarily Production Engineering in this case).
Role overview
A Technical Architect/Design Authority to assist with a D&S Internal Services move of the current EDMS service from existing environment(s) and locations to a new infrastructure environment (RON in Erskine).
Day to Day Responsibilities
The candidate will be available on a daily basis to provide technical lead, advice and governance to the Professional Services teams tasked with taking this solution forward. Amongst the required tasks will be assessing all the options available for service re-positioning and identifying a strategy and approach to move things forward. Working closely with the Project Manager and support teams, responsible for identifying initial Pilot User groups based on resolving current known issues and making best use of the available infrastructure. Assist in identifying optimum spread of users and services across the available hardware and platforms, developing a plan to migrate a number of current users/data/services onto the new environment.
Other Internal Service tasks/assignments will be devolved based on workload and time.
Essential Skills
Solid networking, infrastructure, messaging, data migration, storage skills and knowledge.
Previous experience of moving systems from one environment/platform to another and working with the operational capabilities (primarily Production Engineering in this case).
Desirable Skills
Knowledge of the EDMS technologies in their current environment would be an advantage coupled with an understanding of the new Erskine/RON environment.
