Electronics (Vetronics) Engineer - 6 Month Contract - £200 - £320 pday D.O.E.
My Defence client is looking to recruit a Vetronics Engineer, reporting directly to the Electronic Architecture Design Lead. The role will require close liaison and co-operation with the system engineering and integration subject matter experts and the platform & domain expertise residing in the wider businesses.
Responsibilities
* Analysis of EA requirements
* Preparation, development and reviewing of Proposal materials
* Writing LRU and component specifications
* Integration and test of EA components on SIL rig
* Functional Analysis
* EA subsystems development
* Implementation of design solution
* Support EA integration and test activity on the platform prototypes
Education/Experience
ESSENTIAL
* A relevant or associated degree to the role such as Electrical or Electronic engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or IT
* Experience of interfacing between different teams, accessing and understanding complex information from multiple sources
* Customer facing experience and/or significant bid/proposal experience
* Applied working knowledge of EMC/TEMPEST design practices
* Experience of C4I systems
* Applied working knowledge of high speed data communication design and interface standards, including video data
* Experience with power supply and power management specifications and energy storage devices
* Working knowledge of 3D CAD packages and BoM structures associated.
* Experience of defining, evaluating and qualifying system designs from a set of requirements
* Experience with the design and development of platform systems throughout the SE lifecycle
* Ability to interpret electrical design requirements and propose appropriate design solutions
* Ability to liaise with and present information to multidisciplined team members
* Hold or be capable of holding security clearance up to the level of SECRET.
* Willing to travel extensively within the UK and possibly overseas.
DESIRABLE:
* A strong background in defence systems engineering
* Familiar with relevant Defence Standards, Military Standards and EC Directives.
* Appreciation of all Defence Lines of Development
