HSE SHE Manager - Chemicals. Safety, Health & Environmental Manager. A well established, profitable and expanding company who specialise in coating and etching technology continue to secure orders from around the world. As the company expands, HSE standards and expectations also change. An HSE SHE Manager is sought to drive through changes and influence all staff and departments to embrace a new approach to all HSE SHE aspects.

The Role
The SHE Manager is a new but vital role within the business. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for managing the Health, Safety and Environmental concerns of the business on a sound basis. The company requires a philosophical change in its approach to Health and Safety and Environmental Management and a key driver in the change of Culture and Compliance is sought for this role.
This will include:
+ Compliance to all current and future H&S legislation and audits.
+ Health and Safety Management - through the Management and Senior Management Team.
+ Management of the First Aid requirements of the business.
+ Management of the Occupational Health requirements of the business.
+ Management of the Risk Assessment requirements of the business.
+ Management and Control of the PPE requirements of the business.
+ Implementation of all H&S training requirements (Manual Handling, COSHH, REACH, Fire Safety,
Chlorine, First Aid etc).
+ Co-ordinating the training of the Management Team to IOSH "Managing Safety" level.
+ Management of Accident and "Near Accident" reporting.
+ Implementing and conducting H&S audits.
+ Reporting H&S performance and improvements to the Senior Management Team.
+ Ensuring compliance to all existing and future Environmental legislation.
+ Apply for and achieve a Bespoke Environmental Permit.
+ Management and Maintenance of the ISO14001 manual.
+ Control of the site legislative requirements for Emissions and Effluent.
+ Dealing professionally and tactically with the local relevant authorities (Water, Council etc).
+ Start a cultural change with regards to recycling and Environmental issues (Transport etc).

The Person
+ A background knowledge of Chemistry / Chemical technology (HND Preferred)
+ A suitable Qualification (IOSH / NEBOSH) in Health and Safety.
+ Preferably a Diploma (or working towards) in Environmental Management.
+ Preferentially a Qualification in Occupational Health.
+ Experience in Management of H&S and Environmental Systems (ISO 14001 / 18001)
