A global leading engineering / manufacturing company now have an opportunity for a Logistics Planner to join their Production Planning department. This is an exciting, developing role joining a brand new state of the art manufacturing site with the likelihood to progress quickly into a management position and you will be helping improve and develop the production planning and internal logistics systems as well as taking ownership of individual projects.

Within this role you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of pull systems throughout the company, eg, Kanban, two bin systems in manufacturing cells and supermarket setup.
  • Help develop and maintain a fit for purpose stock management system.
  • Develop and implement a Plan For Every Part (PFEP) system.
  • Lead the evaluation and improvement of the intra-logistics processes such as replenishment routes, ergonomics of material handling as well as health and safety.
  • Evaluating and improving internal packing and storing solutions to minimise stock damage as well as improving internal transport routes and handling.
  • Be an active member in the development of; Sales, Inventory, Operating and Planning (SIOP) systems to maintain suitable stock holding levels.
  • Work alongside the Production Manager and Value Stream Leaders to achieve full capacity, utilisation and on-time delivery.
  • Maintain the manufacturing capacity plan by confirming sales orders, delivery dates and making amendments where required.

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience in Supply Chain / Logistics Management or Production Planning within a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent Planning and Project Execution skills
  • Structured, organised and thorough
  • High level of Attention to detail
  • IT Skills (MS office packages, MRP systems)
