Marketing Manager:

Do you want to excel as a Marketing Manager within a market leading, award-winning global technology provider who develops high-performance instrumentation for electron microscopy sample preparation, coaters and cryogenic preparation systems?

As the Marketing Manager you will work with the Commercial Director to formulate the long-term marketing strategy for the company and have sole responsibility for the day to day marketing activities.


A key part of the role of Marketing Manager is to conduct market research for identifying trends in the market, allowing the company to optimise performance and/or develop new products based on those insights. This will be achieved by using marketing tools to constantly appraise market trends and communicate that information within the organisation.

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for formulating and implementing marketing strategy. This includes:

Research and analyse market trends in coating and related technologies;

Study competitors' products and services

Identify target markets and strategies

Research customer satisfaction in order to improve existing products and services,

Present findings and suggestions to company directors and other senior managers.

Design, build and maintain their digital media presence: web, SEO/SEM, email, social media and display


Plan marketing campaigns and ensure they run to deadlines and are on budget; coordinate marketing

campaigns with sales activities

Assist with product launches

Create and publish all marketing material required for the campaigns;

Measure and report effectiveness of all marketing campaigns and assess against goals (ROI and KPI);

The Marketing Manager will have overall responsibility for brand management and corporate identity, ensure the company is represented at relevant trade shows, seminars and conferences

Design and produce promotional material, branded displays and booths for use at events

Provide logistical support for events by shipping display equipment, setting it up, coordinating attendees,

organising travel and accommodation for attendees

Attend trade shows, conferences and sales meetings

Organise the production of posters and brochures


Knowledge of the scientific instrumentation market or experience in an analytical laboratory would be an


Must be willing to travel both within the UK and internationally for typically 25% of time, in order to attend sales events

and to meet with key customers and opinion leaders for market research purposes.

Highly creative with experience in identifying key opinion leaders in technical or scientific markets and devising campaigns that engage, inform and motivate

Experience in producing traditional marketing collateral - brochures, posters, trade show stands materials

Proven experience using digital marketing platforms and tools to execute campaigns and managing

marketing databases

Demonstrable experience managing digital media SEO/SEM, email/social media)

Knowledge of website analytics tools; setting up and optimising Google Adwords campaigns;

Up-to-date with best practices in marketing and measurement.
