A very exciting and expanding company is successfully developing and moving to the manufacture of an innovative power supply system. This expansion has attracted substantial corporate investment and they have over 15 permanent vacancies including a Mechanical Design Engineer ProE.
Purpose of the Job:
To provide design engineering support to the Product Engineering Group.
Key Accountabilities:
Provision of high quality design support mainly using but not limited to 3D CAD that encompasses:-
+ Concepts.
+ Definitive models and layouts.
+ Receipt, collation and retention of supplier's drawings.
+ Preparation of detailed component and assembly drawings.
+ Preparation of the approved models, drawings and related documents for a release pack.
+ Calculations to back-up design decisions ( including tolerance stacks)
+ Design for Manufacture.
+ Design for Assembly.
+ Maintenance of standard design concepts.
+ Model, BoM, PDM maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
+ Mechanical Engineering degree.
+ Fully conversant with design and layout techniques, practices and procedures.
+ Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
+ Knowledge of engineering theory and its application.
+ Experienced user of GD&T
+ Extensive use of Pro Engineer modelling software.
+ Knowledge and practical experience of conventional analysis and FE analysis is an advantage.
+ Experience using Product Data Management Systems
+ Experience of the Automotive, Aerospace or White-goods industry.
