PCB Manufacturing Manager - £50-£60k - Basildon, Essex

Location: Basildon, Essex.

Responsible for: Managing the Manufacturing Function and the complete supply chain.

Outline of Position
Our client's business is a rapidly growing high-tech business employing 30 staff. Over the past few years it has grown at a rate of 40% per year and expects to continue to grow rapidly. The role of Head of Operations is to develop the manufacturing and procurement capability of the business so that it can meet the aerospace customer's expectations for a first-class product delivered on schedule whilst maintaining the challenging growth rate. The role will be suitable for an experienced manufacturing manager with supply chain management experience who can quickly bring process improvement to the function. For the right candidate role will grow rapidly as with the success of the business.

Summary of responsibilities:

Procurement
Responsible for developing our supply chain strategy.
Responsible for providing procurement support to the development process.
Responsible for maximising current supply-chain performance.

Manufacturing:

Responsible for ensuring that the new products are introduced into production smoothly
o This involves developing and agreeing a clear set of requirements for the engineering function to meet and assisting the engineering team to meet these requirements.
o Ensuring the core test equipment is flexible in order to allow the simple test of the products we make
Responsible for ensuring that our new products are manufactured so that the delivered quality meets the customer requirement and that they are delivered on schedule
o This involves reviewing the test equipment strategy and implementing further testing at stages during the manufacturing process to minimise the cost of re-work
o Developing clear and simple visual work instructions for all manufacturing process
Responsible for driving innovation in the aftermarket service to maximise annual margin
o Improving the responsiveness and customer focus
Responsible for driving continuous change into our working practices so that the performance of the manufacturing function continues to improve and the costs fall continuously
