Principal Systems Engineer - Turret EA/C4I Lead required by one of the largest UK Defence companies
The Advanced Projects & Technologies department is engaged in a number of pursuits, providing specific skill and knowledge to platform projects such as future fighting vehicle programmes.
To this effect our client is looking to recruit a Principal Systems Engineer - Turret EA/C4I Lead. The role will place significant demands on your engineering knowledge and experience. The role will require close liaison and co-operation with the system engineering and integration subject matter experts and the platform & domain expertise residing in the wider businesses.
Responsibilities
* Analysis of requirements
* Apportionment of requirements to turret EA and C4I subsystems
* Write turret EA and C4I subsystem specifications
* Write installation design and certification requirements for turret EA and C4I subsystems
* Write and maintain EA and C4I ICD's for turret
* Dealing with subcontractors during subsystem development
* Support Subsystem and component testing
* Develop and collate progressive assurance evidence from internal and subcontract sources
* Support lethality integration and test activity on rigs and the platform prototypes
Education/Experience
Essential
* Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or relevant experience
* Significant experience in the defence industry in a domain relevant to C4I systems EA solutions and/or AFV's.
* Experience leading activities on engineering development programmes for large defence systems.
* Proven requirements development expertise and experience using DOORS
* Proven system analysis expertise and experience using a SysML tool.
* Proven sub-contractor management experience.
* Proven experience in working with sub-contractors through the integration, test and acceptance phases.
* Proven experience of full systems engineering lifecycle.
* Proven experience managing direct reports.
* Hold or be capable of holding security clearance up to the level of SECRET.

* Familiarity with current British Army tracked and wheeled vehicles
* Familiar with relevant Defence Standards, Military Standards and EC Directives.
