Our client has been central to the defence of the United Kingdom for more than 50 years. Due to company growth they are looking to recruit a Principle Civil Engineer to join their Civil Engineering team.

The Role: Principle Civil Engineer
As Principle Civil Engineer you will be responsible for:

+ Ensuring adequate monitoring of engineering configuration changes 'civil' engineering on behalf of the Design Authority
+ Ensuring Review Learn and Improve (RLI) exercises are carried out for 'civil' engineering and demonstrate compliance with Project Book and Project Process
+ Ensuring the preparation and delivery of 'civil' design solutions which fully comply with all applicable Legislation, British Standards and company Documentation to an agreed time, cost and quality
+ Ensuring duties of design in relation to Construction Design Management (CDM) and other relevant regulations are executed
+ Ensuring 'civil' design tasks are delivered with appropriate designs and to agreed time, cost and quality requirements
+ To be the Design Review Team Leader (DRTL). Chair design reviews of a predominantly 'civil' nature, but specifically water and wastewater orientated

Experience:
As Principle Civil Engineer you will have experience:

+ Degree qualified or equivalent in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline
+ Technical knowledge of "water" orientated subjects, including sustainability design
+ Preferably, technical knowledge of highways and highway drainage design
+ Particular experience in the 'civil' design of a variety of facilities including accommodation, research and testing facilities
+ Demonstrate a good understanding of fundamental principles of 'civil engineering' design methods as appropriate
+ Demonstrate a good understanding of technical standards and regulatory requirements for construction as appropriate
+ Understanding of the influences of 'civil' design on the installation, commissioning and maintenance requirements of a regulated site
+ Knowledge and use of New Engineering Contract and National Building Specification
+ Previous knowledge of the Nuclear industry would be advantageous
