An energy company specialising in Hydrogen and Alkaline fuel cells, are looking for a Director of Production to roll out a unique form of fuel cell. The Production Director will be responsible for the entire manufacturing side of the business
The Director of Production will work closely with the Technical Director and the rest of the technical team. They will initially need to familiarise themselves with the bill of materials for the fuel cell system, as well the associated processes currently involved in component production. They will then have to actively seek out suppliers/partners in the marketplace with relevant capabilities/technologies to ensure we can scale up manufacture over a 1-2 year period within specific cost parameters, and bearing in mind a potential pipeline of orders. The Director of Production will also need to understand the process of electrode refurbishment, and help develop cost effective systems for carrying this out at high volume.
Key Competencies
+ There will be a large emphasis on Quality for this role, so it is essential that the successful Head of Production will be familiar with Lean Six Sigma techniques
+ Proven experience in a production environment culminating in a management role
+ Scientific/Engineering/Technical Master's degree or equivalent experience
+ Experience in one or more of the following sectors is desirable:
- Photo voltaic manufacture
- Fuel Cells
- Automotive manufacture
- Semi-conductor manufacture
- Display industry
- Polymer processing
- Battery Industry
+ Excellent understanding of Lean Manufacturing/ Six Sigma or equivalent and its implementation within a process environment
+ Proven track record in technology implementation and process scale-up
+ Demonstrable experience in part recycling and refurbishment
+ Excellent knowledge of supplier chains and international procurement
+ Experience working within an ISO9000 accredited company
