Design Project Manager with strong experience of New Product Introduction. This person will need to work closely across departments and therefore must be someone who can drive projects forward with ease.
Role:
* Modelling and detailing of implant and instrumentation designs utilizing the PRO E (or similar CAD package) design software.
* Development of prototypes for design verification and validation.
* Interfacing with clinical advisors to gather input for design and evaluation of new custom product.
* Utilise knowledge of all aspects of the surgical procedure in order to develop innovative solutions to solve / satisfy customer needs.
* Actively participate in the development process for assigned new custom product introduction programs.
* Assume overall responsibility for design and manufacturing operations deliverables and drive adherence to phase gate exit and overall project deadlines.
* Develop an ability to influence across the organization by building global relationships with surgeons, Supply, Manufacturing operations, Quality, Marketing and R&D.
* Accurately define WBS, timelines and resource requirements for assigned projects.
* Set project expectations - communicate
Skills and Responsibilities:
* Bachelors Degree in an Engineering discipline.
* 5+ years experience of product design experience in the medical device industry or equivalent.
* Individual will be expected to help drive change through influence.
* Strong communication skills across a diverse audience and an ability to integrate well with surgeons, clinical advisors, AO, PD, Ops, Marketing, finance, sales etc.
* Demonstrated use of best practice methodologies such as six sigma, FMEA, SPC, capability analysis, DOE, DFM etc.
* Demonstrated competency in managing New Product Introduction programs.
* Experience of Process mapping, statistical methods and process/ product validations would prove beneficial.
* The individual should enjoy working in a dynamic and results motivated team environment.
* New Product Introduction experience in a regulated environment would also prove beneficial.
