SAS Programmer
Location: Blackpool
Duration: 3 months initially
Our client require an experienced SAS Programmer in Blackpool with experience in Business Intelligence.
Essential Skills & Capabilities:
* At least 3-5 years experience as a SAS programmer / designer using DI Studio and/or Business Intelligence.
* Experience using SAS in the analysis and the reporting of complex data structures.
* Wide experience in collecting specifications, designing and developing information maps and WRS reports
* Wide Experience in administering the SAS metadata framework in all of its different aspects
* Working knowledge of Oracle database design/structures.
* Working knowledge of Unix environment.
Desirable Skills & Capabilities:
* Familiar with software tools which automate or assist part of the development process.
* Knowledge of the IT infrastructure (hardware, databases, operating systems, local area networks etc) and the IT applications and service processes used within the organisation, for example HP Superdome 2, HPUX, Oracle, Java.
* Advanced macro knowledge.
* Experience of complex programming Architecture or Application development.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
* Develop and comply with project standards and specifications following internal guidelines.
* Analyze business requirements and provide design specifications for both the ETL processes and the on-line application using templates and tools to specify user/system interfaces, including for example: menus, screen dialogues, inputs, reports, validation and error correction procedures, and processing rules. ETL data flows, class diagrams, file layouts, web reports, common routines and utilities, program specifications or prototypes, and backup, recovery and restart procedures.
* Provide programming specifications for both the ETL processes and on-line application.
* Create / develop design products in collaboration with SAS (UK) consultants.
* Support quality control and quality audit of deliverables.
* Provide input as required at all meetings, workshops, discussions and activities covering aspects of the detailed design activities.
* Maintain efficient interfaces with internal and external customers and communicate effectively across line functions.
