Senior Data Centre Infrastructure Analyst

The Technology Department is responsible for the provision of Information Technology, computer systems and electronic communications throughout the firm and their clients. The department is a service function which supports and contributes to the objectives of the business. Data Centre Infrastructure responsibilities
The Data Centre team are responsible for the design, implementation and support of all Technology Infrastructure globally, ensuring that the infrastructure and environmental services are maintained to the high standards required to provide resilient services to the firm and its clients, liaising with other teams, departments or offices as necessary.
The Technology Infrastructure includes, but is not restricted to, Data Centres, Hub Locations, and Computer Equipment Room (CER) environments along with all aspects of the LAN/WAN, Comms and the Server/Storage/Backup environments. The team also provides 3rd level escalations support to other analysts within the firm and is heavily involved in the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery processes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Senior Data Centre Analyst is expected to have an excellent working knowledge of all aspects of the Technology Infrastructure, supported by the wider team.
In addition, in order to effectively support the services running on the firm's technology infrastructure, a good general knowledge of all applications and services provided to the firm is required.
*Maintain the firms Data Centres, Hub Locations and CER room environments, working with office services and third parties for power, cooling, structured cabling and equipment racks,
*Maintain our highly available storage platform (based on EMC technologies), delivering fit for purpose solutions for new and existing services taking in to account IOPs, RPO, RTO, sizing and any wider requirements,
*Maintain the firm's Virtual and Physical Server environments, working towards better resource allocation and consolidation whilst maintaining availability, performance and capacity,
*Maintain the firm's Enterprise Backup Environment, ensuring data is protected and recoverable in a timely manner adhering to Data Retention policies and other in-country regulations,
*Maintain effective Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery technology and procedures working closely with the Application teams, ensuring all team members are fully conversant in said procedures for all office models,
*Technical leadership, working closely with stakeholders within the business and PMO to design appropriate infrastructure solutions to meet the requirements of new and existing services, keeping up to date with relevant technologies and making recommendations as to their potential use within the organisation,
*Assist other technology teams in the implementation of system changes, deployment of applications, monitoring service health and troubleshooting problems whilst ensuring they are aware of any infrastructure related service outages which are planned or un-planned,
*You will be expected to deputise for the Data Centre Manager in periods of absence. You will need a level of proven team leadership experience having dealt with both operational and personnel issues.
Essential Skill:
EMC Storage Area Network platform (DMX-4 based) with synchronous replication between data centres. Geo/Metro Windows Clusters, Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows Server Operating systems (2003, 2008 R2), Physical Server installation and management, Enterprise Backup experience
Desired skills:
EMC Celerra, Centera, DataDomain, VPLEX, Brocade switches, Replication Manager
VMWare, Linux, Powershell or other scripting language, Symantec Netbackup, Microsoft DPM.
Degree level education or relevant IT qualifications
