Senior Production Engineer - Chemicals Automation. A well established and highly profitable manufacturer of lifesaving devices for the defence sector is expanding due to a continued rise is securing orders from their customers around the world. To meet this demand and deliver on-going efficiencies and process improvements, a Senior Production Engineer - Chemicals Automation is required.

Responsible for:
Optimise manufacturing and assembly capacity, quality and cost through identifying, developing and implementing appropriate automation and mechanisation projects.

Main Purpose and Scope of Job
+ To identify and implement all opportunities to automate or mechanise processes.
+ To identify, evaluate and implement relevant technological advances.
+ To identify and Implement automated modern manufacturing principles.
+ To Influence new product design for automated, mechanised or lowest cost manufacture.
+ To Evaluate Cost Effectiveness of Engineering Capital Investment

Function
+ Develop and gain approval for quality assured automated, semi-automated and /or mechanised processes to reduce manufacturing cost and increase operator safety.
+ Implement automated process control, quality assurance, performance monitoring, machine monitoring and other modern manufacturing control principles
+ Lead multifunctional new product introduction teams and influence design to enable automation, semi-automation or mechanisation.
+ Develop quality assured manufacturing and assembly processes

Knowledge and Experience Required
+ Supervisory experience in production / process engineering
+ Time served or graduate Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineer
+ Previous experience of automating mechanical processes.
+ Previous experience of automating chemical processes and chemical material handling.
+ Previous experience of improving production / process engineering performance.
+ Previous experience of modern manufacturing techniques such as TPM, OEE, SMED, Cells etc
+ Detailed knowledge of CAD/CAM.
+ Previous experience of Site relocation/integration.

Education Required
+ HNC, HND, BSc or BEng Degree in mechanical, production or process engineering
