Storage Architect £400-£450 per day - Reading

Job Description:

Storage Architect providing SAN designs for a large EMC Symmetrix, CLARiiON, Emulex and Cisco MDS storage infrastructure managed and supported by EMC Control Centre.
The current storage infrastructure supports 32 & 64 bit Windows Server, AIX, Solaris and VMWARE operating system and therefore requires an individual capable of understanding and designing storage solutions to support the different environment requirements.
The design work considers the following aspects relating to SAN: -
 Performance
 Capacity
 Replication.
 Disaster Recovery
 Tape Storage
 Backup and Recovery
In addition to the design work described above, the successful candidate will work with the Storage Team Lead to assist with planning and tracking Storage Team member tasks and to provide cover for Team Leader absences.


Essential Skills:


5 years experience in technical computing (IT)
Technical design within a large computing operation
Experienced designer for EMC Symmetrix, CLARiiON, EMC Control Centre, SDRF, Mirrorview and Cisco MDS Fabric switches.
Design and support for large distributed computing systems
Technical communication
Technical documentation

Desirable skills:
AIX Server infrastructure
Solaris Server infrastructure
Netapp FAS design and implementation skills
Messaging / Active Directory technology
Experienced designer for Backup software and hardware
Team Lead experience
