Storage EMC Architect is needed for a global IT/Defence company based in Derby. This Storage EMC Architect will secure a 12 month contract and must be eligible for security clearance. The main skills this Architect will need are EMC high level Knowledge across following platforms:
EMC VMAX, EMC VNX, EMC Isilon, EMC Data Domain, EMC Networker, EMC Avamar.

Detailed description:
To provide a Storage Architect
Report into CTO as part of CTO Office.
Formulate high level designs in conjunction with EMC for Key Global Deployments.
Sign-off detailed and high level designs produced by EMC and also attend governance gate meetings as CTO Lead for Storage.
Assist with meetings in local locations and also peer review design work done by HP in smaller sites where no EMC design is produced.
Attend design meetings and design review meetings for all storage designs globally.
Own the reference architecture document for storage.

Skills
EMC high level Knowledge across following platforms:
EMC VMAX, EMC VNX, EMC Isilon, EMC Data Domain, EMC Networker, EMC Avamar.
Solution Architecture Experience at Enterprise Level so as to assist other streams in transformation where required.
Reference Architecture documentation skills
Ability to put together re-usable template designs based on technology blocks.
Experience of liasing with business groups and users to define correct requirements.

Rolls-Royce is undertaking a large programme of change with HP-ES to move all key IT services from the old, and no longer fit for purpose Data Centres in Derby to the recently commissioned new Data Centres in Wynyard and Doxford.
