Our client is a leading company in the defence industry which supplies integrated system solutions to the UK MOD and defence forces. As a result, we have a vacancy for a high calibre Stress Engineer to provide support to a major development project.
The Stress Engineer will:
+ Lead the team supporting a major project, as a senior Stress Engineer
+ Report to the Head of Structural Integrity, and tasked by the Project Chief Engineer, the candidate will be expected to maintain the structural integrity function within the business
+ Be experienced and proficient in managing and performing structural assessment, as part of design development and qualification
+ Quality - to maintain the department's Standards and support internal and external audits
+ Be actively involved in the mentoring and development of staff
+ Identify appropriate training
The Stress Engineer will need:
+ A degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education, and progressing to gaining external accreditation
+ Evidence of significant professional experience including specific stress analysis experience, preferably in aerospace or defence discipline
+ Working knowledge of relevant Defence Standards including Def Stan 07-85
+ Ability to work to tight timescales to achieve commitments and a preparedness to do what is required to get the job done
+ Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
