SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR - READING, BERKSHIRE
(PRODUCT INTRODUCTION SPECIALIST)
A well known Defence organisation is seeking System Administrators with knowledge of Land Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN) and CAN (Controller-Area Network).
Permanently based in Reading, Berkshire and required to travel as required.
The organisation is part of a consortium that develops, deploys, and maintains military services for Fixed (Office), Maritime and Deployed configurations, and delivers these Services to the MoD. The programme will provide the capability to exchange and share electronic information across the UK Ministry of Defence.
ALL CANDIDATES should already hold or be capable of holding security clearance up to the level of SECRET.
The Product Introduction Specialist, working within the Service Management area, will be responsible for the following:-
+ The introduction of new services and products into the Live environment using technical and operational readiness reviews
+ Establish a close working relationship with all areas of the project including Engineering and Enterprise Infrastructure Support (EIS) Service Management units.
+ To be involved in all technical areas that could potentially impact the way in which Enterprise Infrastructure Support Service Management could operate.
+ Identify and quantify product licence requirements for all new products that will be expected to be supported by EIS Service Management
+ Act as Technical signatory for the final acceptance of system design from Engineering.
+ Observe in any in-house testing against the solution and to report on any defects discovered and to act as Service Management technical representative at Verification Completeness Review.
+ Act as the Technical Authority for the system solution by demonstrating and adhering to configuration control processes.
+ Gain an understanding and be fully conversant in the technical solutions that are supported by EIS Service Management and other Service Management teams.
+ Identify and introduce all support and resource kit tools to aid in the longevity of the product.
+ Ensure that with all new products that are introduced with security constraints imposed on the project are considered before agreement.
+ Act as Technical Reviewer for all design documents that are sent out to the customer for approval.
+ Represent Service Management and its interests, from a technical and process perspective, at Engineering's Application Migration's factory Reviews.
+ Able to review technical documents from an ongoing supportability as well as technical perspective. At the same time keeping Service Managements remote management model in mind.
Qualifications
+ A solid broad knowledge of Enterprise wide IT Infrastructure.
+ Solid knowledge of Service Management disciplines, preferably ITIL V3.
+ Self motivated, conscientious and tenacious.
+ Ideally from a 3rd line background.
+ Ability to chair and run effective meetings.
+ SC (SECRET) Security cleared
