Systems Design Engineer - Hardware and Software - Role and Responsibilities
+ Production of all necessary design and documentation to fulfil the requirements of the client's specifications, using hardware and software solutions
+ Attend sales/project handover meetings, to receive and acquire familiarity with the sales proposal documentation and the client's specification
+ Ensure that all technical elements of the project are fully understood and that the project team is fully engaged in meeting the project objectives
+ Responsible for the production of functional design specifications and software design specifications
+ Generate all necessary project engineering documentation
+ Raise material requisitions and agreement of delivery schedules with the Project Management and materials function
+ Development of the system hardware detailed design, including obtaining client design approval in accordance with the project milestone requirements
+ Development of the system application software and HMI software applications as required
Systems Design Engineer - Hardware and Software - Skills and Experience
+ Proven track record with a good understanding of safety and control system requirements, applications and standards, preferably from within the Oil and Gas business sector
+ Hardware and Software design experience on PLC based systems and familiar with the IEC1131 standard
+ Qualified to HNC, HND, BSc, BEng, MSc, Degree Level
+ Experience with OPC and serial Modbus Communications
