Systems Design Engineer - Safety and Control Systems

This world leading brand in controls and automation continues to secure substantial engineering projects from around the world. To meet the safety-lead high engineering standards of their customers, a vacancy for a Systems Design Engineer has been created.
Systems Design Engineer - Safety and Control Systems - Role and Responsibilities

+ Be the technical authority for designated projects and conducting of design reviews, working in conjunction with Technical managers
+ Process and assist with sales applications enquiries
+ Attend customer bid clarification meetings and participate in site meetings when required
+ Attend sales handover meetings to ensure technical compliance with the sales proposal documentation and the client's specification
+ Verify the technical aspects of the system design during the design phase thereby ensuring compliance to the customer's specifications
+ Responsible for the organisation/generation of all necessary documentation as per the System design requirements including raising of material requisitions
+ Identify and resolve with the Project Manager the project cost/schedule/resource constraints
+ Identify changes in requirements from the client
+ Support project assembly and validation teams
+ Generate safety system control system configuration specifications

Principle Systems Engineer - Skills/Experience
+ A proven history and track record with a good understanding of safety and control system requirements, applications and standards, preferably from within the Oil and Gas industry
+ Hardware and software design experience on PLC Based control and safety systems
+ Qualified to HNC, HND, BSc, BEng, MSc, Degree level
+ Experience of working to Functional Safety Management requirements preferable with functional safety management qualification.
+ Experience with OPC and serial Modbus Communications to third party systems and HMI's
