Survivability Engineer required by one of the largest UK Defence companies.

They are looking to recruit a Survivability Engineer, reporting directly to the Lead Survivability Engineer. You will be a key player within the team. The role will place significant demands on your engineering knowledge and experience. The role will require close liaison and co-operation with the system engineering and integration subject matter experts and the platform & domain expertise residing in the wider businesses.

Responsibilities

* Analysis of Survivability Requirements
* Chassis Survivability solution focused
* Flow down of dervived survivability requirements to suppliers
* Define and perform modeling and simulation necessary to gain assurance of the proposed designs.
* Write supplier SOWs
* Write Survivability ICDs in particular identifying the survivability mounting solutions
* Dealing with subcontractors during subsystem development
* Subsystem and component testing
* Develop progressive assurance evidence
* Implementation of design solution
* Support survivability integration and test activity on the platform prototypes

Education/Experience

Essential

* A relevant or associated degree to the role such as Mechanical or Automotive engineering or relevant work experience
* A proven track record
* Experience of engineering platform designs against performance and reliability targets
* Experience of defining, evaluating and qualifying system designs from a set of requirements
* Experience with the design and development of platform systems throughout the SE lifecycle
* Contemporary knowledge of existing and emerging technologies in the areas of automotive and vetronic systems
* Ability to liaise with and present information to multidisciplined team members
* Hold or be capable of holding security clearance up to the level of SECRET.

Desirable

* A strong background in defence systems engineering
* Familiarity with current British Army tracked and wheeled vehicles.
* Familiar with relevant Defence Standards, Military Standards and EC Directives.
