CBSbutler award winners
All the teams who exhibitied had to present their work to the judges, talking through the process they worked through to produce the end result.
As a testmaent to the quality work which was exhibitied, the judges remarked on what a tough job they had in picking winners for each category!
2010 Science Festival Winners
BOC Inspiring Gasses Challenge - To improve the efficiency of a direct cooler as part of an air separation unit.
Winner - Godalming College
Brooklands Museum Challenge – To design an interactive science or technology exhibit by use by Key Stage 1 and 2students visiting the Museum.
Winner - Farnorough 6th Form College
Highly commended - Wallington County Grammar School
The Siemens Healthcare Engineering in Healthcare Challenge - Think up and develop a prototype for the NEXT BIG THING in personal healthcare products.
Winner – Sandhurst School – Bracknell
CPNI Security by Design Challenge - To turn school grounds into a new hi-tech transport research centre against criminal activity.
Winner – Hershel Grammar School – Slough
Highly commended – Wallington County Grammar School
Surrey County Council Sustainability Challenge Research - To design ways of reducing our carbon footprint, re-using materials or developing and prototyping renewable power sources
Senior Winner – Farnborough 6th Form College
Junior Winner – Wimbledon High School
Team Achievement Award - For the project which best demonstrates progress made through teamwork as well as the commitment of time and skills
Winner – Royal Alexandra & Albert School, Redhill
Personal Achievement Award - An award to the student that has demonstrated a high level of personal commitment and achievement
Winner – Andrew Martin, Reigate Grammar School
Best Year 9 STEM Club Project - Awarded to the STEM Club showing innovative projects and greatest understanding of the subject studies
Winner – Fullbrook School, Surrey
STEM Teacher of the Year - Awarded to the teacher who has been inspirational to their students and provided the students with encouragement to continue studying
Winner – Vicky Fitzgerald – Southborough High School, Kingston
Highly Commended – Tessa O’Shea, Wimbledon High School
Young Entrepreneur of the Year - For a project combining a clear understanding of the market/user need with an incentive and workable solution
