Head of Talent and Performance Coaching has arrived at CBSbutler

Meet Simon George, who has recently joined CBSbutler as the new Head of Talent and Performance Coaching. His winning smile and calming personality has already won him firm fans throughout the company. He brings with him a new personalised style of training and a wealth of experience in recruitment, spanning 20 years across Construction, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, IT and Technical.

It was pretty clear within the first couple of minutes of talking to Simon, that his passion and drive for coaching is stemmed from his sporting background. We talked about his sporting career at Burton Albion where he played semi-professional football for 4 years, and how his mindset around sporting performance can translate into a business environment.

Rather than focus on one thing and be 1 % better at it - let’s focus on 5 things and improve all aspects of it by 0.5% which gives you a better chance of maximising your performance

I asked Simon why he joined CBSbutler, he said that after two decades on the “coal-face” he wanted a new challenge and felt it was time to take his career in a new direction. However, recruitment is what he knew, and it wasn’t until CBSbutler came along and offered him this exciting opportunity, that Simon was able to fulfil his coaching ambition.

“It’s an exciting time to be joining CBSbutler in terms of what the future holds, I can’t wait to help take the company to the next level. It’s a challenging role but I am really excited about it, I have a wealth of experience to offer individuals of all levels, who want support and development to help them through each stage of their promotional criteria. I want to help recruiters be the best they possibly can be, maximise their earnings and make them the go-to specialists in their respective market sectors

Simon’s energy is infectious, he is down to earth but has the right mix of charm and confidence that makes you feel at ease. He is clearly invested in the job and any young professionals looking to join CBSbutler, well now is the time. Not only will you be joining a strong brand with a fantastic set of people; But you will be joining a company who takes its employees' training seriously. You will be mentored by experienced billers who will guide you on how to achieve success and supported by Simon who has a very different style of training, he understands that not one size fits all; where classroom learning may work for some and not for others; his at-the-desk, one-to-one approach is working wonders on the sales floor, where recruiters are allowed to express their development needs and Simon will implement a bespoke personal development plan to help achieve their goals.

I asked Simon, if I was looking for a job as a recruiter, what 4 things would he say to make me come and work here.

He replied…” CBSbutler is a very strong brand and you will be proud to work here, I was immediately impressed by the culture and there is a contagious energy on the sales floor. Most importantly, for all salespeople, you have the opportunity to earn uncapped commission and there are some big billers here, who can only serve to inspire others. We also promote a collaborative environment and friendly atmosphere in all departments.

Everyone shows real peer to peer support. Finally, we are a company that likes to have fun while we work; just take a look at our Life at CBSbutler"

Simon’s approach was refreshingly open and honest, a real positive example of why you would want to come and work here. Ultimately, you will be trained and supported by people that care, and who want you to see you succeed and reach your full potential.
