Keeping Up With CBSbutler, December brings New Recruits

Posted by: Rana Barker 21 Dec 17  | Recruitment News

Keeping up with CBSbutler
December brings new recruits.

Sam, Tommy and Ro are 3 of our newest recruits. In true CBSbutler style, we welcomed the three of them and asked them to give us a little insight into their personal lives, revealing why they came to work here at CBSbutler.

First up we have Rugby man Sam:

Introducing Sam

Sam is from Oxfordshire, now lives in Reigate and is making the most of life after University.

He likes people and wants to make money and the two go hand in hand when working in recruitment.
He is the newest member of #TeamPharma and he has slotted into the dynamics of the team brilliantly.

“I graduated from a Sports coaching degree and saw recruitment as a natural career progression, as weird as that sounds. I love working with people and I am motivated by money. I have an interest in pharmaceuticals and I see it as a way to giving something back. Aside from my career motivation, I am incredibly sporty and Rugby is my go-to sport. I had a brilliant time playing for the Wales’ under 16’s national team, and I’m currently playing for League 1, Hemel Stocks.

Thanks Sam

Our next newest member, Tommy stumbled into recruitment by a friends recommendation.

Introducing Tommy

Tommy was working in Telesales in a completely different market. Since joining CBSbutler he has seen the opportunities that are available to him and is very excited about his future.

Tommy enjoys socialising with his friends, plays 5 a side football and is a bit of a coder, he creates computer programmes in his spare time; and is looking to one day buy his first property.

Tommy knew instantly that CBSbutler was the place for him, he liked the environment and the interview was friendly which made him feel at ease. The team he has been placed in have been totally supportive and his manager Bethan is excited about his future. Good luck Tommy

And finally, we have our most recent new recruit, Ro

Introducing Ro

I live in Crawley with my partner John and our 2 kids - Ida is 3 and Hunter is just 12 weeks and our two cocker spaniels Joey and Wish. We also have Johns 2 old kids and their dog Bear to stay quite often so our home can be an utter circus at times. But it's always fun and happy.

I was running my own commercial cleaning company since 2009 and before that, I was in technical recruitment. returning to recruitment had been on the cards for a good couple of years so after the birth of my second child I was steadfast in my next mission.

I joined CBSbutler as, amongst other more important things, even though I didn't do great in the interview (first one in over 10 years) or on the PPA test they still offered me a role, I can only think it was based on my copious wit and charm!

We asked Sam, Tommy and Ro some CBSbutler trivial, it was a great way to reveal more interesting facts about our new recruits.

1. Describe yourself in 3 words?

Sam: Funny, Sporty and Easy Going
Tommy: Fun, Quiet and Thoughtful
Ro: Spirited, Proactive and Resilient

2. Why did you want to join CBSbutler?

Sam: The company had a good reputation with great opportunities
Tommy: There is a lot of opportunities here and great earning potential, I see a real future here
Ro: I already knew it was the type of company I wanted to be in - technical, revered, recognised. The acquisition from 360 Recruitment was a big tipping point due to the possibilities it opens up. It was down to the team and prospects.

My first interview gave me a real feel for the kind of people that CBSbutler hire and Caroline, John and Isobel are definitely my kind of people! They also mentioned and demonstrated clear career progression avenues within the organisation.

Following the second interview with David Leyshon and talking to him about his path and visions for the people in the company I just knew this would be a good move.

3. If you were a superhero what superhero power would you like to have?

Sam: The Power of Flexibility (my body that is)
Tommy: Invincible
Ro: Cancer Killer

4. What’s on your bucket list?

Sam: Drive through Vietnam on a moped, I want to go to Fiji and help sea turtles as I am quite the environmentalist
Tommy:  Raceday experiences I love fast cars and I want to go on holiday to the Caribbean and of course to buy a house!
Ro:  Diving the Blue Hole in Belize. Many travel experiences. Keeping my kids alive!

5. If you were to create a slogan for your life, what would it be? (Example: Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow, we all die.)

Sam: Live, laugh Rugby!
Tommy: Work hard, Live Easy!
Ro: Be yourself and the rest will follow

6. If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want to have with you?

Sam: A device that turns sea water into drinking water, a spear gun to go fishing and a Machete
Tommy: TV, generator and a Fridge
Ro: World's most comprehensive desert island survival guide, large sharp object suitable for multiple tasks such as filleting fish, cutting branches and warding off man-eating creatures. Lip balm. I can't live without lip balm!

7. Are you a sunrise, daylight, twilight, or night? why did you pick your time of day?

Sam: Daylight I make hay when the sun is shining
Tommy: Night - I am not a big sleeper as I am a bit of a night owl.
Ro:  Sunrise. New start, a fresh beginning. embrace the day and make the most of it. To watch a sunrise (or set even) is just magical, it makes you feel that everything will be great and whatever happened yesterday good and bad, will be better today.

8. If you could choose your age forever, what age would you choose and why?

Sam: 18 – My Fresher year was amazing!
Tommy: 25, not old enough to have done everything and old enough to still feel young
Ro: 60, by the time I am 60 my kids are all off my hands. My mortgage paid. I'm in retirement.

I'll have enough life experience to know what is good and be utterly outrageous living out my days safe in the knowledge my work is done. chilling on a cruise boat. mojito in one hand, love of my life in the other en route to the next adventure.

We wish you all a happy and prosperous time here at CBSbutler!
