Nepalese Lunch & 'Quake Bake'

Rebuilding Nepal

In the wake of  two of the largest earthquakes to hit Nepal in more than 80 years, thousands of lives have been lost, many more injured and countless families have been left homeless or displaced with no immediate access to food, water or shelter.

Many survivors are living in make-shift tents after their homes were completely destroyed. In fact, so many homes were destroyed that a government spokesman requested half a million tents from various relief groups.

Power outages and downed cellphone networks are impeding relief efforts on the ground, particularly in the more remote mountainous areas and aid groups remain gravely concerned about the potential spread of disease.
After taking some much needed respite to watch the morning sunrise, our Plodders will have to dig deep and call upon all of their reserves of stamina and determination, to push through the following day and reach the finish line at Beachy Head, Eastbourne.

Lunchtime fundraiser

CBSbutler has partnered up with learndirect, the UK’s largest provider of online skills and qualifications, to help develop a pioneering apprenticeship programme specifically tailored to the recruitment industry.

Targeted at non graduates, the £200million government backed initiative boasts both national and international funding, and looks to create more than 20,000 national apprenticeship opportunities by the end of 2015.

With a staff member's Nepali spouse being part of the wider CBSbutler family, this cause is particularly close to our hearts, and Friday last week CBSbutler employees tucked into a traditional Nepalese lunch to raise funds for the earthquake appeal

....and we're not stopping there!

Quake Bake

Fresh off the heels of our recent efforts, members from the CBSbutler Support Team have also kindly volunteered to host a 'Quake Bake' on Tuesday 26th May, with a variety of cupcakes, brownies and sponges available to purchase in order to raise additional funds for this incredibly worthwhile cause.

Ongoing efforts

There are also plans to participate in a variety of upcoming events over the coming weeks, in order to achieve our goal of raising substantial funds for the Nepal Earthquake Appeal.
