 Diversity & Inclusion

“Oxford Instruments is a highly innovative company serving a wide and varied customer base around the world. Diversity of talent at all levels in Oxford Instruments is an important factor for maximising performance and ensuring that we reflect our customers' requirements in all that we do.

We want to attract, develop and retain the diverse mix of talent that we need to continue to grow our business and to maintain our position as a leading innovator. To support this we will continue to cultivate an inclusive environment where every individual has the opportunity to contribute fully and realise their potential”.

- Dawn Brooks (Managing Director Industrial Analysis & OI Healthcare)
  Group Diversity & Inclusion Champion

We believe diversity and inclusion helps drive innovation and business success; it is part of our DNA and creates the environment in which all of our employees can feel valued and thrive.  Through our global diversity strategy, based on our commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion, we aim to ensure equal opportunity for all employees.

Dawn Brooks - Managing Director Industrial Analysis and OI Healthcare - is responsible for leading our full programme of diversity and inclusion awareness across the global business.

Over the past 12 months we have made significant progress with our Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) agenda.

This includes:
  • Delivery of D&I awareness and engagement sessions for the plc Board and Directors and Senior Managers to ensure a shared understanding of our ambitions in regard to developing our diverse global talent pool

  • D&I is measured in our annual 'employee survey' and will continue to be in order to drive business improvement moving forward

  • Work with local universities and professional bodies to help raise awareness of women in science

  • Embedding diversity and cross cultural awareness in our Group wide development programmes
