A number of very exciting pemanent opportunities have arisen in the heart of London for experienced 4th Line Systems Engineers to join a dynamic IT defence consultancy. These are brand new roles, where you will be working on expansive new project work in a high profile environment, and so require a high level of security clearance.

As a 4th Line Systems Engineer, you will be working at senior level and have excellent knowledge of implementing and maintaining complex architectures on the client site. My client will essentially be looking for someone who has strong 4th Line experience to support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support system changes and project work independent to day to day support activities
  • Provide technical guidance as a Subject Matter Expert on allocated technologies
  • Provide 1st line to 4th line support on a day to day basis
  • Attend meetings and/or client locations as required
  • Support business development including PQQ, ITT, RFQ responses and bid work as requested by the management team


Essential Skills/Requirements:

  • A good working knowledge of Wintel IT systems with a broad scope of skills and experience of mainstream IT infrastructure services and components including:
  • Microsoft Active Directory directory services
  • Good understanding of networking including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
  • Server installation and builds
  • Virtualisation technologies including VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Workstation builds and deployments including Microsoft WDS and MDT
  • Practical experience of implementing security policies and system lockdowns including Microsoft Active Directory GPOs, application whitelisting/blacklisting and device/media control
  • A good working knowledge of at least one Microsoft Back Office product (e.g. Exchange, SQL, SCOM/MOM, ISA/TMG, LYNC, ILM/FIM)

Develop, establish and maintain quality assurance programs, policies, processes, procedures, and controls ensuring that performance and quality of products conform to established standards, Customer Requirements and agency guidelines.

Provide guidance in interpreting governmental regulations, agency guidelines and internal policies to ensure compliance.

Role and Responsibilities:

+Deliver leadership for Customer-Focused Quality improvements, Design Assurance, Reliability, Product Safety, Quality Systems and business process improvement initiatives.

Prime the Quality Management interface and messaging on Customer matters relating to Product Quality Compliance and Reporting.

Engaging and responsible for interfacing with regional customers for key quality issues, supporting RMA issue resolution.

Review Key Customer Requirements / Contracts and ensure they are suitably addressed and managed by internal procedures or managed back to the Customer.

Implement and maintain RMA processes, driving improvement programs and detailed reporting of Product Quality Performance.

Skills and Experience:

+ Degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience

+ Experience of Quality Management with technical skills in an electronics / optoelectronics field

+ Broad technical skills and understanding of Materials, Electronics, FW/SW, PCBA, Optics

+ Product Reliability Awareness / Design Assurance: Knowledge of process and material to assure product reliability.

+ QC tools awareness, 8D report methodology, SPC, Gauge R&R, Calibration, 6-Sigma, PDCA

+ Good communication with Engineering, Commercial teams and External Customers.
