Software Development Team Lead

Would you like to work within a thriving market facing Information Systems & Services department as a Software Development Team Lead?

As a Software Development Team Lead, you will lead and supervise a team to provide expert design and implementation of a suite of integrated end-user applications. These applications will enable the effective management of complex assets, managed under an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) regime. We provide services that are available across the Maritime Enterprise from Royal Navy vessels back into the support chain enabling the assurance of product safety, information security and data veracity. These services enable our customer businesses to operate effectively and deliver continuous process improvement.

Your main responsibilities as a Software Development Team Lead will involve:

  • Leading a team of developers & testers to deliver functional specifications and implementations that convert user requirements (Features and Stories) into efficient solutions
  • Accountability for developing, implementing and executing the delivery plan for the Applications Development team (Development & Configuration Tasks, Scrum Testing and Support to live Applications) within the Business Solutions Competency Centre
  • Ensuring integrated solutions maximise the capabilities of available commercial off-the- shelf (COTS) toolsets
  • Ensuring the delivered products are fit for deployment to support and all necessary support material and engineering checks are complete
  • Assuring the communications from your team to external and internal stakeholders is assured and timely (Forecasts, Issues, Risks etc...)

Your skills and qualifications as a Software Development Team Lead:

Essential:

  • Good degree or equivalent qualifications
  • Subject matter expert in the design and development of major software applications and how those applications can support the business processes
  • Capable of producing technical proposals and documentation for use by senior management within the organisation to support their decision-making process.
  • Proven working experience in Oracle or MSSQL and .NET/ MVC
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies

Desirable:

  • Experience in Java, HTML 5, ES 6, ReactJS
  • Working experience as a Scrum Master
  • Line Management experience

An opportunity is now available for a Field Service Engineer within a leading manufacturer and supplier of Medical Nurse Call Alarm Systems.

A Field Engineer is required to service and install electronic/electrical nurse call alarms and nurse call systems whilst attending medical clients including hospitals and nursing homes/care homes, ensuring the work is completed efficiently and to the highest quality. Working 40 hours a week as a field engineer you will visit a variety of different locations, dealing with a variety of customers including patients and medical professionals so good customer-serving skills are required.

As a Mobile Engineer you will cover an assigned territory around South London, Surrey, Sussex and Kent. The ideal engineer will be living along the M25 or along the M23.

Package;

The Role…

The Hadoop Specialist is required as a role within a Cyber project.

  • Nominated technical staff capable of supporting the day-to-day running of the current CySAFA environments and future PaaS architecture. SME Focus on Hadoop.

  • Undertake the day-to-day maintenance of the infrastructure, ensuring that it is maintained in good order at all times.

  • As part of the BSI Team, provide the Infrastructure Responder Group capability to respond to, and resolve, as appropriate, DCO Service Desk requests.

  • Diagnose and rectify infrastructure issues including physical and virtual configuration changes.

  • Implement design and configuration changes as required by the Fixed Infrastructure Architect.
