Advanced Manufacturing Engineer
Hybrid working - Monday Friday (37.5hrs p/w)
£45,000 - £52,000
A highly reputable engineering company producing cutting edge fuel cell technology are seeking an experienced advanced manufacturing engineer.
As the advanced manufacturing engineer, you will be dealing with cross functional projects and looking at new technology/changes to existing technology. The manufacturing engineer wills also be involved in hands on learning of new technologies, creating new IP/information that can used and distributing these to their partners. You will coordinate, manage resource requirements of own projects, work with multiple departments and collaborate with external facilities (obtaining grants, working with Unis on research projects etc.).
Other responsibilities - Advanced Manufacturing Engineer:
Critically assess equipment performance making clear recommendations for improvements and driving implementation plans to achieve volume, yield and cost targets.
Specify and implement new equipment and tooling to improve processes.
Assist in the acquisition of new equipment, including planning for delivery and commissioning.
Ensure equipment operates within the expected ranges of performance with ability to diagnose underperformance and propose and implement strategies to achieve performance targets.
Delivery of new processes through the development life cycle that achieve required performance metrics (KPI's). Support all relevant fundamental process and material systems development as well as manual part production, supporting progression through increasing levels of automation as process maturity is improved.
Experience required - Advanced Manufacturing Engineer:
Hands on Manufacturing Engineering using the equipment - purchasing equipment, installing it, etc.
Degree or equivalent in an engineering related field
Extensive background in an engineering capacity
Knowledge of lean manufacturing / 6-sigma
Technical lead experience on development projects (budget control, installation, commissioning etc.) is highly desirable
