Agile Coach & SAFe Program Consultant

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Agile Coach and SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) to join our team as we grow our Agile at Scale capability.

This role will be working on the latest technologies being developed within Leonardo as we develop the next generation of sensors, systems and capabilities in support of Typhoon's replacement, Tempest. This role will work closely with all functional areas within Major Air Programmes, to implement our scaling approach for the delivery of the large scale Tempest programme. This role will also be working closely with the other Lines of Business within the Electronics Division, as we roll out Agile on new programmes.

This role can be based at any of our UK sites, but will be required to attend the Luton site for a significant proportion of their time.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Head of Engineering Projects, the Agile Coach & SPC is responsible for:

  • Establishing and developing the Scaled Agile delivery teams, including the preparation and launch of Agile Release Trains (ARTs).

  • Developing our internal frameworks for Scaled Agile delivery.

  • Developing and growing the capability and efficiency of our agile teams.

  • Providing training to stakeholders, current and future team members.

  • Providing guidance to the team as to the best way to apply Agile for development and deployment.

  • Ensure that the teams live Agile values and principles ensuring the agreed Agile approach is being followed.

  • Helping influence wider business practices to support agile development and deployment.

  • Promoting streamlined ways of working across the engineering lifecycle in order to be competitive.

  • Manage, communicate and facilitate issues resolution with senior management.

  • To work closely and effectively with all stakeholders

What We're Looking For

You really must have:

  • Certified and experienced SAFe Program Consultant (SPC).

  • Experience of delivering large scale agile programmes with multiple ARTs, comprising SW, FW, HW and Systems aspects.

  • Experience of Scaled Agile Frameworks in a highly regulated environment, such as aerospace, telco, financial services .

  • Certification to deliver SAFe Training courses - Leading SAFe, SM and PO/PM courses as a minimum.

  • Demonstrable experience of developing high performing teams.

  • Significant experience as a Scrum Master, agile coach, release train engineer.

  • Exceptional and comprehensive facilitation skills.

  • Proven ability as a leader able to work with multiple, diverse roles.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Ability to transfer knowledge clearly and effectively.

  • Ability to work as part of a strong responsive team working to tight deadline.

  • Self-motivated leader and team player capable of working with minimum direction.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact with subject matter experts regarding a wide range of technical and operational topics.

  • Experience using tools enabling remote collaboration (Miro / Conceptboard).

  • Willingness to travel within the UK and possibly overseas.

  • Ability to obtain Security Checked (SC) Clearance (if not already cleared)

It would be nice if you had:

  • Certification to deliver SAFe training courses for DevOps practitioner, RTE, Advanced SM and Practitioner.

  • Experience of delivering as part of a prime organisation
