We are looking for someone who:

• Has proven working knowledge of the Azure BI Platform, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL and Microsoft Power BI

• Has experience as a database or ETL developer, preferable on SQL server platform

• Has extensive working experience of Microsoft BI solutions (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)

Key Responsibilities

• Data solution architecture

• Provide expert technical advice and guidance to help scope out and design reporting solutions

• Translate business requirements into technical data solutions

• Develop innovative ETL approaches to bring a diverse set of on-prem and cloud-based data sources into the Data Lake

• Identify and implement suitable data quality management and meta data management solutions

Azure platform development and management

Develop and operate the Azure BI platform. Design, develop, test, and roll-out effective Azure data repositories, such as databases, data marts, blob storage, and analytics models to deliver automated reporting, Power BI dashboards, and deploy data science capability.

Education and Experience

• Degree in computer science, information systems, or another related technical field

• Possesses a background in software and/or database development and engineering, data architecture, and managing BI Solutions

• Experience as a database or ETL developer preferable on SQL server platform

• Experience of designing conceptual and logical data models

• Hands-on experience with developing in BI cloud technologies in Azure including Data Factory, Power BI (DAX)

• Extensive working experience of Microsoft BI solutions (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)

• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database issues such as integrity, performance, replication, connectivity, recovery, and security.

• Experience in agile methodologies

• Experience in preparing data for data science and Machine Learning

Knowledge/Skills

• Ability to identify a business problem and recommend

• Design and development of best practice ETL flows, data stores, dimensional models, cubes

• Data warehousing and best practice BI Architecture

• Data aggregation and dimensional modelling, OLAP

• Data preparation (sourcing, acquisition, integration)

• Proven ability to solve problems of varied technical backgrounds

• Fluency with appropriate tools including Azure DevOps, Visual Studio other SQL Server Management tools

• Awareness of best practice, trends, and evolutions in the IT industry and most particularly MS Azure technology stack.
