About the role

With a key objective of the Practice Development team to support in winning new clients, the Bid Lead will play a key role in developing and co-ordinating winning tender documents and presentations, advising and challenging partners, recording and reporting on key metrics and supporting colleagues with their proposals and bid skills.

About the candidate

You'll have experience of delivering

successful bid documents and presentations within the professional services environment, and be comfortable advising, influencing and challenging partners. You'll also be deadline and quality-driven and used to making change happen.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing tender and presentation support to partners and BD team, coordinating tender processes and ensuring best practice.
  • Developing content and messaging, and drafting, editing and proof-reading documents, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Support partners in the qualification of tender opportunities, and challenge where necessary.
  • Prepare partners for fact-find meetings through deciphering the ITT/RFP, preparing questions and conducting research on the prospect.
  • Coaching bid teams in presentation rehearsals, preparing them for panel questions and providing feedback.
  • Ensuring independent debriefs with the prospect following results to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Holding tender debriefs with partners to identify any improvement points and better understand their future needs.
  • Recording all tenders, including services provided, sector, people involved, fee and outcome, and reporting regularly on metrics.
  • Create and maintain a library of key wording, credentials and other collateral for inclusion in tender documents and presentations.
  • Assisting in the development and use of consistent templates to support proposal document creation and embedding its use across the firm.
  • Coaching and supporting the PD team and partners in developing their tender skills.
  • Coordinate the use of procurement portals.

Skills & expertise

  • Experience of working in a professional services firm, preferably accountancy or law.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
  • Deadline-driven with an emphasis on quality output.
  • Enthusiastic and energetic, able to take the initiative, drive process and make things happen.
  • Excellent persuader, influencer and challenger, with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Strong project management skills with an ability to be flexible, prioritise and delegate.
  • Friendly, team player with good interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Fast learner with the ability to hit the ground running.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
