Biomechanical Systems Engineer
Up to £54,000 basic salary
Based in Denham
A leading manufacturer within aerospace engineering is looking to expand their Systems Engineering department by bringing in a Biomechanical Systems Engineer to join their dedicated team based in Denham!
In this role, you will be responsible for the development and sustainment of bio-mechanic digital modelling capabilities to help study spinal injury potential of aircraft equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the team to collaboratively develop and deliver digital models and innovative analysis techniques for occupant biomechanics modelling.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of anthropomorphic test devices (ATD) and instrumentation in collaboration with the Test department.
- Utilise the software MSC Adams to replicate the ATD joint dynamics response to acceleration loading during escape as seen in physical testing.

- To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed in order to maintain and / or improve the efficiency, quality and service provided by the Engineering Department and wider business.
- To help support the mission of the Human Systems Integration team across multiple research and operational areas.
Experience/Skills required:
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- Knowledge in multibody system dynamics.
- Knowledge in the fields of biomechanics, trauma and accidental injury, and / or automotive/aerospace crash testing.
- Experienced in numerical modelling, data analysis and / or statistical analysis.
- Experienced in rigid body modelling (tools akin to MSC ADAMS).
- Minimum 1 year experience of engineering complex systems.
- Experience of contributing to system design within an integrated team of engineering disciplines.
