Business Analyst - Defence Project

Role Purpose:

This is a great opportunity for a Technical Business Analyst to join a leading service provider, working on a digital transformation program that will deliver a new cloud management platform to manage our clients hybrid cloud environments.

Working in an agile environment, you will be part of the DevOps team and will be responsible for understanding business processes and requirements as well as existing system behaviours to produce high quality user stories that can be estimated, built and tested.

Facing off to Product Managers, Delivery Leads, business and technical SMEs and senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring that the system meets its requirements, delivers business value and can be delivered efficiently.

Responsibilities as the Technical Business Analyst:

  • Conducting detailed analysis on business processes and requirements, and producing high quality documentation which is clear, concise and accessible to business and technical audiences

  • Writing high quality, testable user stories to ensure that these can be estimated, delivered by developers and used to define test automation and which.

  • Analysing, understanding and documenting existing system behaviour, including data mapping to support integration design as well as identification of system features and data requirements.

  • Data/business analysis required to identify volumetric requirements for specific use cases to feed into capacity models and performance testing as well as gathering and refining operational requirements.

  • Understanding and identifying business value and continually communicating and advocating that view to ensure that the delivery is focus around business needs and delivers that value.

Skills and Experience as the Technical Business Analyst:

+ Experience as a technical business analyst, working directly with software engineers in an agile environment and ideally as part of a DevOps model.

+ Experience in producing high quality user stories for hybrid cloud environments, to a predefined readiness criteria, including witting detailed acceptance criteria and defining and documenting exception processes.

+ Experience of supporting and working closely with development teams and assisting testers in developing test scenarios and test automation using BDD/TDD or similar industry standard approach.

+ Technical experience with Private and Public cloud platforms such as VMWare, AWS, Azure and the likes

+ Experience running workshops / requirements gathering events

+ Experience with Atlassian tools including Jira / Confluence
