The Opportunity - Chemist

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the unique and technically challenging field of rocket propulsion!

The energetics and materials team is responsible for the research, development and manufacture of energetic and inert materials to meet the demanding requirements found in our rocket motors.

Responsibilities - Chemist

• Developing and monitoring propellant to meet energy, mechanical and ballistic requirements.

• Ensuring the adhesives, insulants, inhibitors and paints meet strict safety requirements.

• Improving, driving efficiencies and standardising associated manufacturing processes.

• Qualifying propellant and materials in accordance with recognised defence and internal standards.

• Investigating and resolving material and related manufacturing problems/issues.

Requirements - Chemist

Candidates are expected to have a higher degree in chemistry and/or significant practical experience in a technical manufacturing/process environment (high degree of discipline). The common theme is a genuine interest and aptitude in chemistry.
