My client is entering a very exciting phase due to their growth in the automotive/defence industry. They specialise in protection solutions for the MOD and they are in need of a Chief Engineer to support the development of their internal systems and organisational structure. The role is to take the lead of the engineering department and manage the project, test, design, and development teams.

The Role - Chief Engineer

• Take ownership of the product lifecycle from an engineering perspective
• Manage the product configuration and concept generation
• Conduct system leadership during all phases of product delivery
• Manage the engineering teams and be responsible for producing a product with to best quality and to the customers specification
• Participate in reviews and meetings ensuring any improvements are being made
• Directly report to the head of engineering for updates on the product line

Skills/Experience - Chief Engineer

• Degree level in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge/experience of Vehicles and the Automotive industry
• Excellent understanding of systems and interior components
• Experience with engineering product delivery
• Product configuration and value engineering
• Good problem solver
• Leadership qualities
