Children's Services Manager

A leading UK Children's charity require a Children's Services Manager to provide leadership, operational management and the development of a cluster of services in Surrey to children, young people and their families, ensuring high quality delivery to meet the commissioners expectations and contractual requirements.

The Children and Young People across these service have a range of Learning Disabilities, Challenging behaviour and/or Complex Health Needs and so a high level of care and compliance is of the utmost importance. Experience of working with children with these disabilities is paramount.

Responsibilities:

+ Direct leadership and reports of 7 staff with an overall staff responsibility of c.40

+ Management of an expenditure budget greater than £1m

+ Ensure service delivery complies with all statutory regulations, establishing performance levels that lead to outstanding or good rating in external inspection

+ Promote the highest standards of safeguarding practice

Establish and promote collaborative relationships with existing and potential commissioners

+ Provide effective leadership, management and overall responsibility for planning and development of resources

+ Manage and lead a team of professional social care staff

+ Provide line reports with regular supervision, performance reviews and apply other HR responsibilities to develop, motivate and improve outcomes for children and young people

+ Create and manage cluster budgets

Experience

+ Evidence of ongoing management training and development

+ Relevant professional qualification

+ Previous experience of working with children and young people who have learning disabilities

+ Managing change projects

+ Demonstrable understanding of issues affecting social care provision

+ Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen and awareness

+ Excellent written and communicative skills

This position is offered on a 5 month contract basis with the possibility of extension.
