A Deputy Manager is required to support the on-going development and success of a Residential Children's home, belonging to one of the UK's largest Children's Charities. The home is being developed to be a flagship centre of excellence for children and young people who have a range of profound learning difficulties, complex needs and challenging behaviour.
The state of the art residential home will provide state of the art facilities and therapies, personalised care plans and dedicated support specialist to ensure each child reaches their full potential and has focussed and dedicated key workers.
As a Deputy Manager, supported with a team of Senior Support Workers, Night Support Workers and working with the Registered Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Support the Registered Manager in day to day running of the home
Work under the registered manager and deputise when required
Recognise and assess individual needs involving relevant professional agencies
Provide the highest level of personal care and attention to Young People
Ensure all legislation and standards are met in line with OFSTED Regulations
Ensure that you fully understand the placement and referral process
Building relationships with Local Authorities and Commissioners
To be an active and encouraging deputy manager
Promoting the safeguarding of young people
Attending Internal Meetings and Training Sessions
Carry out regular staff supervision, keeping accurate and detailed reports
As the Deputy Manager, you should have experience in the following:
NVQ min level 3 in Health and Social Care with Children
Experience of children's Residential Care
Expert knowledge of working with children with complex and challenging needs
Confidence and experience carrying out staff supervision
A tenacious, "can do attitude" which has the young person at the centre of your practise.
This role could also be suitable for a Senior Support Worker or Team Leader looking for a step up in their career.
