Design Engineer (Contract)

Based in West Sussex

Paying up to £40.00 per hour inside IR35 (6 months)

My client and I are looking for a skilled Design Engineer to join their Mechanical design team. My client is a specialist in protection solutions for the Automotive and Defence industry. They have a new exciting project coming into the business and they need an experienced Design Engineer to design and develop products for the project.

The Role - Design Engineer (Contract)

• Assist in delivery of project/product line requirements
• Conduct solid modelling and detailing of products
• Produce engineering drawings and CAD models and BoM (Bill of Materials)
• Ensure manufacturing feasibility of the design
• Ensure that product targets are met (Cost, Weight, Strength etc)
• Be able to complete your work to company's and customers standards

Skills/Experience - Design Engineer (Contract)

• Degree qualified or equivalent
• Worked in low/medium volume production environment
• Strong experience design and development
• Able to use 3D CAD package (Solidworks)
• Experience with material selection
• Has performed structural performance assessment
• Preferably to have worked in the Defence, Automotive, Aerospace sectors
