Desktop Support Engineer
Our client a Global Defence organisation are currently looking to hire a Desktop Support Engineer to answer queries and resolve technical issues involving computer hardware, software, network and telecommunications systems.
£20,000 - £25,000 (Depending on experience)
Must be eligible for SC Clearance
Based in Cheltenham (Hybrid working)
Your duties:
- Provide help desk and technical support services. Ensuring that all requests from users are logged, updated and closed in line with SLA's
- Install, configure and deploy computer system hardware and software
- Install, configure, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software and peripheral devices.
- Administer and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Support the Network and Server teams to ensure that the appropriate patches, hot fixes, and service packs are installed in a timely manner.
- Assist Network and Server administrators with scheduled maintenance, network improvements, upgrades and repairs.
- Asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
- Assist with the Identification and resolution of any potential security breaches / vulnerability
- Provide technical, operational and training support for all computer related equipment, peripherals, accessories and components.
- Research and evaluate new software and hardware technologies which could enhance the computer system.
- Provide on-call technical support
