Our client a Global Defence organisation are currently looking to hire a Desktop Support Engineer to answer queries and resolve technical issues involving computer hardware, software, network and telecommunications systems.

£20,000 - £25,000 (Depending on experience)

Must be eligible for SC Clearance

Based in Cheltenham (Hybrid working)

Your duties:

  • Provide help desk and technical support services. Ensuring that all requests from users are logged, updated and closed in line with SLA's
  • Install, configure and deploy computer system hardware and software
  • Install, configure, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software and peripheral devices.
  • Administer and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Support the Network and Server teams to ensure that the appropriate patches, hot fixes, and service packs are installed in a timely manner.
  • Assist Network and Server administrators with scheduled maintenance, network improvements, upgrades and repairs.
  • Asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
  • Assist with the Identification and resolution of any potential security breaches / vulnerability
  • Provide technical, operational and training support for all computer related equipment, peripherals, accessories and components.
  • Research and evaluate new software and hardware technologies which could enhance the computer system.
  • Provide on-call technical support
