Job Description

We have a great opportunity for an experienced DevOps/Linux engineer. You'll be maintaining and helping to design our cloud infrastructure on AWS, and ensuring that we delivering industry-leading availability and speed across the world. We have 'infrastructure as code' - using Terraform and Jenkins - to supply mainly PHP based backends and React front ends.

Have at least 4 years experience and current certification on AWS cloud
You must have solid experience with Terraform and Python, and worked with Lambda scripts in Python and/or Node
You will have in-depth experience of CI tools - and ideally Jenkins
You must have in-depth experience maintaining database servers - especially Aurora (MySQL), Elasticache (Redis) and DynamoDb. You'll have experience working with very large databases in a high availability environment
You will have worked with VPNs, Cloud Firewalls, IDS, Drive Encryption, and be able to bore us silly talking about server hardening techniques

Additionally you will:

Have an exceptional track record of working with Linux servers to support growth at fast scaling companies/startups

Have been part of a team ultimately responsible for the 'Uptime' metric of the virtual server infrastructure for a Saas (software as a service) product - and taken a share of being on call, at any hour of the day

Be a passionate team player - you will be excited to be part of a really able and supportive team - especially by ensuring that everything is well documented

Have experience working in partnership with fast paced and ambitious development teams looking to ship secure code, fast

You will understand the importance of PEN testing, Uptime monitoring, Disaster Recovery rehearsals and backups

Be a self-starter, self-motivated, and driven - you'll push us forward and bring your ideas and excitement to the team
