Job Description

We have a great opportunity for an experienced DevOps/Linux engineer. You'll be maintaining and helping to design our cloud infrastructure on AWS, and ensuring that we delivering industry-leading availability and speed across the world. We have 'infrastructure as code' - using Terraform and Jenkins - to supply mainly PHP based backends and React front ends.

  • Have at least 4 years experience and current certification on AWS cloud

  • You must have solid experience with Terraform and Python, and worked with Lambda scripts in Python and/or Node

  • You will have in-depth experience of CI tools - and ideally Jenkins

  • You must have in-depth experience maintaining database servers - especially Aurora (MySQL), Elasticache (Redis) and DynamoDb. You'll have experience working with very large databases in a high availability environment

  • You will have worked with VPNs, Cloud Firewalls, IDS, Drive Encryption, and be able to bore us silly talking about server hardening techniques

Additionally you will:

  • Have an exceptional track record of working with Linux servers to support growth at fast scaling companies/startups

  • Have been part of a team ultimately responsible for the 'Uptime' metric of the virtual server infrastructure for a Saas (software as a service) product - and taken a share of being on call, at any hour of the day

  • Be a passionate team player - you will be excited to be part of a really able and supportive team - especially by ensuring that everything is well documented

  • Have experience working in partnership with fast paced and ambitious development teams looking to ship secure code, fast

  • You will understand the importance of PEN testing, Uptime monitoring, Disaster Recovery rehearsals and backups

  • Be a self-starter, self-motivated, and driven - you'll push us forward and bring your ideas and excitement to the team
