A highly reputable, leading provider of medical engineering maintenance services are seeking an Electronics Repair Technician to be based at their HQ in Theale.

The role will be working on highly complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging technologies in the medical sector. You will be working in a laboratory environment as part of the electronics team who work with a wide variety of medical devices that comprise power supply units (PSU), RF power amplifiers (RFPA), RF coils for MRI and other peripheral electronic devices.

As the Electronics Repair Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out troubleshooting, repair work, soldering, testing and replacing components.

The main focus of this role is on MRI, but you will also get involved with other technologies such as X-ray, CT scanners, Ultrasound, endoscopes, and a wide variety of hospital ward medical equipment.

Other key accountabilities include:

  • Troubleshoot devices and apply best practice for restoration

  • Source documentation, schematics and follow manufacture's procesure

  • Work as part of a bigger team of company operations (i.e. respond to customer enquiries, liaise with customer service, field engineers, warehouse etc.).

  • Always ensure compliance with ISO and medical device regulations as well as follow health and safety rules.

  • Report to the manager of repair operations.

Experience/Qualifications required:

  • HND/HNC/ONC, military training, degree or equivalent in electronics/electrical engineering

  • Extensive experience in testing, troubleshooting and repairing electronics assemblies

  • Excellent communication both written and verbal


  • £30,000 -£35,000

  • Paid overtime for pre-agreed work.
